October Brought Celebrations of the Arts for
Beta Alpha and Lambda State
On October 5, 2017, Beta Alpha members met at Jameson's Charhouse in Skokie for dinner and a brief business meeting.  Following dinner and the meeting, members walked steps to the Northlight Theatre to enjoy a production of The Legend of Georgia McBride.  Members shared a few good laughs as they watched this music filled comedy about a down on his luck Elvis impersonator who had to find a new voice keep his job when a drag show took over the entertainment at the Florida Panhandle bar where he worked.
On October 6 - 8, 2017, members Joan Rog and Patty Walsh enjoyed the Lambda State Creative Arts Retreat at the beautiful Lorado Taft Campus in Oregon, IL.  While Joan spent the weekend enjoying arts and crafts workshops, Patty arrived on Saturday and enjoyed a dance workshop and two writing workshops.  In the dance workshop, Patty worked with Lambda State sisters to learn choreography for  Razzle Dazzle 'Em from the musical Chicago.  In the writing workshops, Patty connected with sisters from Lambda State who have been successful at writing and publishing their works.  To share conversation with women authors and aspiring women authors was truly engaging and inspiring.  Patty will cherish memories of this afternoon for years to come and hopes to maintain connections with these truly amazing women!
